Mama Stopped Praying

Mama was always praying for us kids
No matter how much bad or good we did
It gave her great joy in the Lord
When things we needed she could afford-

Mama took us to church every Sunday
And made sure the offering plate got our money
We enjoyed mama reading the Bible to us
And she said faith in Jesus you can trust-

Mama stopped praying, mama stopped praying
They buried her body today
Mama stopped praying, mama stopped praying
With Jesus her spirit flew away-

Mama's faith was anchored in the cross
And she knew her soul wouldn't be lost
She looked forward to being with Jesus in the Promised Land
And prayed we children would take the same stand-

Mama's daily prayers paid off for me
The Lord set all my sins free
I can't wait to hear mama's voice again
When my new life in Heaven begins-

Mama stopped praying, mama stopped praying
