I remember playing cowboys all day
With a stick mop as Trigger I was on my way
Down the back alley I would ride
In between car sheds I would hide-

Rock-n-roll was the music of choice
Ricky Nelson and Elvis had the voice
Crusing in my 53 Ole's automobile
Music blasting girl chasing what thrills-

Memories, memories
They are forever in my mind
Memories, memories
They don't fade away in time-

My childhood went by way too fast
Something so good I guess couldn't last
But I got away from the Lord up above
Through it all He still showed me His love-

God brought me back into His light
I know tomorrow is going to be all right
Heaven is the real place I want to be
Happy childhood time I can really see-
