My Loved Ones

My dad was a fun loving man
He was firm and had an American stand
He cared for us six kids all the same
He raised us up with a good name-

Mama loved the Lord and believed in the golden rule
And had us up early for Sunday school
She helped raise us kids treating everyone fair
And making sure before bedtime we were on our knees in prayer-

My loved ones, my loved ones
You knew where they stood
My loved ones, my loved ones
God blessed me real good-

Grandma was a kind and gentle soul
Warm to others never bitter or cold
She always had time for us to tell our troubles to
And said don't worry faith in God will help get you through-

The Lord has called all my love ones home
But their memory still carries on
Their faith in God got them to the Promise Land
Today they are with the Lord walking hand and hand-
